2 Day Multiday Sportfishing Charters

2 Day trips offer versatility, increased range and maximized time on the water! You can fish Cortez or Tanner banks one day and then travel overnight and fish San Clemente or Santa Catalina Islands the next day! Mexican waters are also within range! Yellowtail, Dorado, Yellowfin tuna, Bluefin tuna and White Sea bass are all targeted by these trips depending upon the season and fishing conditions.

2 Day Multi-day trips are approximately 46hrs long, departing for example 9:00PM on a Thursday, fishing all day Friday and most of the day Saturday before heading back to port and arriving Sunday around 7:00PM. Depending upon the Ultra's home port and the season, you will either heading deep into Northern Baja California, Mexico waters or fishing multiple islands such as San Clemente and Santa Catalina or the Channel Islands off Southern California.

Fishing Rod/ReelBring a 7-9ft graphite or glass rod for fly-lining smaller baits such as anchovies or very small sardines. Bring another 7-8 ft “step-up” rod for larger sardines, yo-yoing iron, or fishing a dropper loop on the bottom. This rod should be in the 25-40lb line test range. Optionally bring a longer “Jig Stick” for throwing surface iron when the Yellowtail are busting threw the chum line, but not eating hook baits. Although the Ultra always has trolling available on board, you are more than welcome to bring your own, just make sure it has 60-80lb test and preferable is a two-speed. Additionally, you may want to bring a heavier two-speed outfit with 50-60lb test, just in case a one-in-a-lifetime bite erupts on the large Bluefin tuna or Bigeye tuna!
Terminal Tackle1/4-1oz egg sinkers, 2-6oz Torpedo Sinkers, #2-4/0 Live Bait Hooks. Premium hooks such as Owner, Mustad, or any other reputable brand.
Fishing Line15-20lb and 25-40lb test. Also bring fluorocarbon leader material from 20lb-60lb or more. You also may want to bring a few spare spools of line to change if you have to.
LuresSurface iron such as Tady 45's and heavier jigs in blue/white, scrambled egg or chrome for yo-yo-ing for Yellowtail or Barracuda under bird schools . An assortment of 3-6inch swimbaits from Big Hammer, AA or equivalent. Also, bring heavier iron such as a Salas 6x in chrome or chrome/blue with a single siwash hook for dropping under kelp paddies or off the bow during a long drift!

These trips target big game sportfish such as Yellowfin tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Albacore, and Yellowtail off of Northern Baja or the outer banks of Southern California or White Seabass, Halibut, Yellowtail and other species off the Southern California coast and Islands!
