Extended ¾ day Charter and Limited Load Open Party trips are special trips that allow the Ultra either the extra travel time required to find the fish or maximizing your fishing time on the water! These trip typically fish Santa Catalina or San Clemente Islands, but just about any of the local banks or fishing areas are fare game! These trips find the fish!
With approximately 12 hours on the water, these trips fish like an overnight trip, but they leave and return the same day you fish: 6:00am-6:00pm . They also get both a head start on most of the regular ¾ day boats and allow a couple of extra hours in the afternoon to fish while the other boats are heading in. Sometimes that afternoon Yellowtail or White Sea bass bite is just getting started when the other boats are pulling anchor and heading for home, while the Ultra is still fishing! When El Nino conditions exist, these trips give anglers a strong shot at catching Yellowfin, Yellowtail and Dorado when available.
| Fishing Rod/Reel | Bring at least two rods: 8-9ft graphite, glass, or composite rod for fly-lining anchovies for calicos or line-shy Yellowfin and a heavier 20-40lb stick for yo-yo-ing iron or fishing a dropper loop with a live sardine. Always bring premium tackle on these trips |

| Lures | Surface iron such as Tady 45's and heavier jigs for yo-yo-ing for Yellowtail or Barracuda under bird schools . An assortment of 3-6inch swimbaits from Big Hammer, AA or equivalent. Mojo's and Scampi's for Sand bass and Sculpin with ½ -2oz heads. |
Depending upon the season and conditions, these trips typically target the larger species such as Yellowfin tuna, Yellowtail, and White Sea bass, but when the bigger fish are not biting be prepared to fish for and catch Calico bass and Sand bass, Rockfish (Red Snapper) and the occasional halibut.
